This article explains how to edit a timecard and enter time manually.



1) Click Timecard in the top navigation menu and then select the Timecard option on the left navigation menu.


2) Use the Search feature to look up an employee or click their name in the list on the left. 


3) Verify that you are viewing the correct Pay Period.  By default, the current Pay Period is selected. Use the dropdown menu above the timecard to choose a different Pay Period, if needed.


4) To edit or add punches, the timecard must be in editing mode. To open the timecard for editing, click the Edit Timecard button below the timecard.


5) Enter or modify time by typing in the time entry spaces. 


A typical day may consist of 4 punches:

  •     In: begin work
  •     Lunch Start: go to lunch
  •     Lunch End: return from lunch
  •     Out: finish work

Each blank/new day on the timecard has only two time entry spaces by default; one for punch In and one for punch Out. To create additional spaces, click the plus sign (+) to the left of the date.


The gray square to the right of each time entry space indicates the type of punch. Punch type must be entered correctly, because the punch type will interact with the Lunch and/or Break rules to determine whether the time will be paid or unpaid.


To verify the punch type, hover your pointer over the square. Click on the square to change the punch to a different type. Keep clicking to cycle through the different types of punches until you reach the type that you need.


6) When done entering time, click the Save Timecard button below the timecard.


7) Click the Close button below the timecard to exit editing mode.


8) An asterisk (*) will display to the left of date(s) on the timecard, indicating that the timecard has been edited manually.
